IEEE International Scientific and Technical Conference on Smart Technologies in Power Engineering and Electronics  (STEE) was founded in 2016 with the aim of exchanging scientific ideas and research on the development of Smart-technologies in power engineering and electronics, as well as creating favorable conditions for the cooperation of scientists and practitioners from various countries of the world, attracting young scientists to active participation in scientific research in this field. The conference was launched by leading Ukrainian scientific institutions and organizations: National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and the Institute of Electrodynamics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with the support of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, the Kryvyi Rih National University and the Public Organization “Association of women professionals in technical sciences “Lady Science”.

The location of the conference was chosen in a picturesque location of Ukraine – the azure coast of the Black Sea – town settlement Lazurne, Skadovsky District, Kherson Region. For six years, the conferences were held on the basis of Wellness Complex «Mayak» of Igor Sikorsky KPI.

The occupation of Ukrainian territories by Russia in 2022, including some districts of the Kherson region, and armed aggression did not make it possible to hold another STEE-2022 conference.

In 2024 IEEE 7th Conference on Smart Technologies in Power Engineering and Electronics  firstly was held under the auspices of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in Kyiv, Ukraine in the framework of IEEE Kyiv Polytechnic Week 24-26 September, 2024 in online format. The conference was attended by Ukrainian scientists who made presentations on three technical tracks Power and Industrial Electronics; Acoustics, Multimedia and Speech Processing; Electronic Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology.

IEEE international scientific and technical Conference on Smart Technologies in Power Engineering and Electronics  has become a traditional event for scientists and specialists from different countries of the world working in the field of energy and electronics. The conference provides opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience, which contributes to the further development of Smart technologies and their implementation in practical activities.
